It could be argued that building a strong infrastructure is the most important responsibility of the new executive pastor. Consequently, in all of my coaching relationships, we spend most of our time discussing infrastructure.

I’ve posted many times on the topic of infrastructure, in one way or another. Here’s a list of relevant posts. Check them out!

With all of this said, probably one of the most significant infrastructure decisions facing the new executive pastor is selection and use of Church Management Software. Why? Simply put … a church’s “infrastructure backbone” is its Church Management Software. It will drive most decisions relative to structure and people processes.

In other words, the best software will most likely result in the best structure and process. It’s that simple!

If you’ve been around here a while, you know my church is a Church Community Builder customer. Unfortunately, we didn’t make this choice right from the beginning. As a result we’ve spent a bunch of time and effort implementing software that we ultimately were not going to use long-term. We’re definitely happy customers now!

If you are a new executive pastor, read through these posts and formulate your plan for building strong infrastructure in your church.
