Strategic Planning Facilitation

Strategy PlansI’m headed to Indiana to help a church through its first ever Strategic Planning Process. I’ll be there all day today and tomorrow, heading home on Wednesday night.

I really enjoy leading church staffs through this process! It’s especially enjoyable doing it for a church staff that’s never really done anything like it. Watching staff members around the room begin to understand and imagine a future that’s different, plotted out from a “plan and execute” point of view, is a very rewarding experience.

The impact on the staff and the effectiveness of the church overall, in terms of accomplishing its mission, makes all the effort really worth it!

How about your church? Have you done any serious planning? Is it something your church needs?

Well, it’s that time of year. September and October are the typical church planning months. There’s no better time to take a look at the past few years, consider what has and has not worked, and make plans for the coming few years. Of course, if your church is on something other than a calendar year, your planning time might be different. Regardless, developing a Strategic Plan will do more for your church than just about anything else you can do.

If you would like to put something together for your church, contact me. I’m happy to help. From a short phone conversation to session facilitation, and anything in between, the planning process I’ve developed will definitely work for your church.

Give it a try!
